San Cristóbal de La Laguna is the only city in the Canary Islands to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its colonial architecture, the layout of its streets, and a large pedestrian commercial area give a distinctive character to this ancient university city. Enjoying its historic streets is an almost obligatory experience. La Laguna has a lively cultural and gastronomic life, with numerous museums, theaters, bars, and restaurants. Undoubtedly, a picturesque city, full of history, art, and flavor.

A WALK THROUGH HISTORY
A WALK THROUGH HISTORY

A building with a lot of history and character, it was constructed in 1760 by Mr. Cesáreo de la Torre y Ceballos, a native of Lima, captain of Güímar, and member of the Royal Economic Society of La Laguna. Later, it became the residence of the Bishop of Tenerife, Mr. Luis Folgueras, and the Major College of the Institute of the Canaries. In 1885, it was converted into a hotel, and since then, it has continued to welcome generations of guests, always maintaining that classic essence, but also cozy and familiar.

ART, CULTURE, AND NATURE

Thanks to its privileged location in the center of La Laguna, you can enjoy the architecture, culture, and charm of the pedestrian streets full of life and charm, as well as a lively leisure scene with a wide variety of bars, restaurants, and terraces where you can taste the rich local cuisine. But La Laguna is not just its historic center. It also has a lot to offer nature lovers, such as the Anaga Rural Park, a Biosphere Reserve with unique biodiversity; the “charcos” (natural pools) of Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo, and of course the impressive Teide National Park, where you can admire a unique volcanic landscape and climb to the highest point in Spain.
